Sachet Ball Two-day class This piece focuses on an unstructured (no armature) 3-dimensional ball shape that creates a locket with an opening hinge. The strap portion is a unique variation on standard netting, to create a crochet type spiral with a self-beaded clasp. The ball is designed to teach the physical properties that are used to create a self-supporting ball shape out of tubular peyote. This ball locket is created with 15/0 seed beads. The strap portion is an innovative way to use netting, specifically using 15/0, Delica, 11/0 and 10/0 triangles to create a beautiful new spiral. Create a unique type of closure with the ‘Y’ split that opens. This piece was taught at the 2005 Bead & Button Show as a workshop. Sachet ball variation: Santa Bag |
